DS110DF1610: Does CDR reset temporarily block incoming signals

Part Number: DS110DF1610

Hello,

We are using the DS110DF1610 retimer device in our networking system and have a question regarding the "Cross Point Switch" process in section 6.3.1.3 of the datasheet (shown below) . We understand that the reitmer offers non-blocking channel routing that can be routed via a cross point switch, however we were wondering the following questions:

  • Would a channel still be non-blocking during the CDR reset in step 5? (i.e. is the channel blocked while the CDR lock status is down and recovering after the CDR reset?)

  • Is the Channel only non-blocking when there is a CDR lock status on the incoming singal to the channel
