Yes it is possible, but a different firmware build is required. You can request the build be sending an e-mail to usb@ti.com.

Hello ,

In order to operate the TUSB3410 device in RS-422 mode you can use the attached firmware. Also you need to use a converter from RS232 TO RS422.

Only to clarify, the attached firmware can be used to operate with RS422 and RS485.
