DS26C32AT: Alternative device having higher ESD(HBM) tolerance

Hello,

My customer is looking for a device that has the same functionality as the DS26C32AT but has a higher ESD(HBM) tolerance. Does TI have any recommended devices?

    Hi Hirano-san,

    What exact HBM rating are they looking for?

    I would look into the SN65LBC173A. It has 6k HBM the input pins and 5k HBM on all other pins. The DS26C32AT has 2k HBM on input pins and 1k on all other pins.

    A middle ground option is the AM26C32 which has 3k HBM on all pins. 

    Are you able to explain why the customer is requesting additional HBM protection? Is there a new requirement for it?  One of the main standard bodies, JEDEC, states that 500V HBM protection is enough for safe manufacturing conditions with standard ESD control processes.

    Thank you for your response.
    They do not have any specific requirements. They just want better ESD performances than DS26C32AT, because they saw some ESD issue at current design using DS26C32AT.
