DS90UB947-Q1: Power-up sequence requirements between the serializer DS90UB947-Q1 and the deserializer DS90UB948-Q1

Part Number: DS90UB947-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB948-Q1

When using the serializer DS90UB947-Q1 paired with the deserializer DS90UB948-Q1, what is the recommended power-up sequence between the two devices? Should the PDB pin of the 947 be pulled high first and stabilized before pulling high the PDB of the 948? Or should the PDB of the 948 be enabled first, followed by the PDB of the 947? Also, what is a reasonable time interval between these two PDB signals?

  • Hello Fei Huang,

Thank you for your inquiry, you may find the power-up sequence and recommendations

The RIN should be populated before the PDB is released on the 948 side, and the output of DOUT should be available from the 947 side once the PDB is HIGH on the SER side and CLK is stable.

The typical Lock Time to the incoming signal from 947 is about 5ms, the most important interval to maintain is the sequence of SER PDB release -> FPD-Link data output -> valid RX data received at DES -> DES PDB release in this order.

Please let me know if you have any further questions!

    Best,

    Miguel
