MAX3243: The communicate issue between MAX3243 and GD75232

Part Number: MAX3243
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GD75232

Hi,

We consider to use MAX3243 to communicate with GD75232 in the diffenert board, and the MAX3243 receive signal from GD75232 is normal but the send a signal to GD75232 is abnormal, the GD75232 board is the error codes, can you help to check out schematic that advise how to solve this issue., thanks.

  • Hi Zhang,

    • What VCC voltage is being supplied to the transceiver? Is it 3.3V or 5?
      • Currently your charge pump capacitors are setup for 3.3V.
    • Can you measure the exact voltage supplied to the transceiver at the pin? How much of a voltage drop is present due to the Schottky diode?
    • The Invalid pin is an output and can be left floating. It should be connected to the supply rail.
    • Please provide waveforms of the exact DOUT pin voltages. That way we can isolate whether the MAX or GD transceiver is the source of the problem.

    Best,

    Ethan

  • One common error is that a unidirectional protection diode on a RS-232 bus line clamps negative voltagews to near ground. Please show everything connected to the DOUT pins.
