TMUXHS221: Can this switch audio signals?

Hi,

 

I am considering using the TMUXHS221 as an audio switch at the output of the TLV320AIC3254IRHBT audio codec at output pins LOL and LOR.  Is this device bi-directional and able to switch audio signals with low noise?

    Hi Alan,

    The THMUXHS221 is a passive bidirectional switch, so the mux can pass any signal through that fall within datasheet spec. That being said, audio applications typically require low RON, which this device has (3ohms), so it should be able to pass audio signals through without the introduction of much noise.
