LMH1297: In and Out operation with same connector

Hi Team,

I am using LMH1297RTVT in my design.
I wanted to know how can i connect the In and Out of the IC to same connector.
Basically, it will require a switch which will support the signal of 75E.

Also there are some signals which has to be pulled low and high based on the input selection.
Kindly please suggest me the

So are there any available options in switch for these SDI signals.

Hi Irfan,

Are you planning to use SDI_IO pin as both an input and an output, or SDI_IO will always be an input and SDI_OUT will always be an output? In the latter case, the switch will have to deal with switching between the input and output. For the former case, it may not work as the IC will be consistently going back and forth on EQ and CD mode. Is that okay with you?

Hi J,

I am planning to use in the normal way where SDi_IO pin will be in for RX and SDI_OUT will be Out for TX as shown in below image,

But the SDI_IN signal coming from the HD BNC Connector and SDI_OUT going to the connector should be the same. In this case, I need a Switch which supports the switching between two 75E impedance In and Out.

I hope this makes clear.

I will share you the schematics in which one IC includes both In/ Out but only one will be enables at time.

Hi Arya,

I need a Mux which can support a single ended 75E impedance signal (SDI).
It should be 2 input 1 Output , bidirectional.

Hi Irfan,

Another option could be the TMUX1072. The previous device is also bidirectional 2:1 but has higher speed capability.

Will this switch support 12Gbps single ended 75E impedance SDI signals.?

Hi Ifran,

My mistake you are correct, the TMUX1072 would not be able to handle that speed. The only Mux options that can support that rate would be the differential pairs we currently do not a single ended mux that would be able to handle that speed.
