DS90LV048A: DS90LV048A Data in while powered down

Part Number: DS90LV048A

Hello,

I have recently found an oversight in a design where a DS90LV048A on an unpowered PCB will have data sent to in from a fully power up DS90LV047.

The VCC of the DS90LV047 is 3.3V. The DS90LV048A datasheet does not give a V max for the inputs in terms of Vcc. So it seems like this should not cause an issue but we wanted to confirm.

Thanks,

John

  • Hi John,

You are correct. If you try sending LVDS signal to the RIN pins of DS90LV048A while it is unpowered, the device will not be damaged. You just won't see anything on the output side of the device until you power it on.

    Regards,

    Matt
