I am currently using the SN65DP159 in my design. I noticed the datasheet specifies AC-coupled TMDS inputs, but my FPGA provides a DC-coupled TMDS output.

Why is AC coupling specifically required for this chip?

Can the SN65DP159 accept a direct DC-coupled input from an FPGA, or is AC coupling mandatory for the output to function correctly?
