Hi team,

The direction of the schematic appears to be incorrect, as it would cause the diodes to always be turned on. Please help me double-check the datasheet to ensure it is accurate. Thanks~

Hi Louis,

This schematic is correct. The MMBZ30VCL is a common cathode diode, which means the cathode is all connected to a common ground with separate anode. We also have common anode devices such as MMBZ15VAL which has separate cathodes and a common anode which would show the schematic flipped.

Hi McKenzie,

What I mean is that if the customer wants to clamp the ESD voltage, they should connect the anode to Vbus and the cathode to ground. Is that correct?

Yes, the anode should connect to VBUS and the cathode to ground.

Hi McKenzie,

still a little bit confuse, if the anode connect to VBUS, and cathode to ground will makes the diode always turn on, because it is on a forward bias, as i know the zener is work as backward bias with over a voltage threshold.
