TCAN4550: WAKE Pin in Test Mode

Part Number: TCAN4550

Hello,

another question on the TCAN4550.

Some block diagrams in the data sheet show the WAKE pin connected to the CAN FD Transceiver block inside the TCAN4550 block diagram.

Is the WAKE pin still functional in Test Mode with TEST_MODE_CONFIG = 1 (i.e. when an external transceiver is used)?

Thanks

  • Hello AP,

Yes, the WAKE pin will remain functional in Test Mode with TEST_MODE_CONFIG = 1.  When the device is in Sleep Mode a voltage transition on the WAKE pin will cause the device to transition to Standby Mode.  This is referred to as a Local Wake Up (LWU) event which is independent of the CAN transceiver.

    Regards,

    Jonathan
