DP83867IR: Not able to establish link.

HI Sir/madam,

We are from LTTS banguluru, supporting for product development one of our client, we are using DSP SC594 processor to communcation with DP83867 in RGMII mode.

speed of 1G or 100Mbps is good enough for us.

can you please share any example or same code to test the application, for your reference attaching scematic snippet.

    Hi Mothilal,

    Looking at the schematic I see your RJ-45 connector with integrated magnetics shorts the PHY-side center taps inside of the connector. This does not follow the DP83867 datasheet magnetics diagram, specifically note A, which separates center taps on the PHY side:

    This may affect the ability of DP83867 to link up, so I strongly suggest changing this to align with the datasheet example. I don't see other issues in the schematic, however I recommend doing the following to help debug this link issue:

    1. Double check the schematic with our DP83867 schematic checklist
    2. Read through our DP83867 troubleshooting guide
    3. Try swapping cables, and link partners to see if there is another dependency on this issue.
    4. Check that register access is ok on the PHY
    5. Check that the clock source and magnetics fall within the DP83867 datasheet specs.

    One other comment I have on the schematic is whether the 1.8V rail is connected to anything. I see there are capacitors here, but do not see a power connection. Is this intended to connect to a 1.8V rail?

    Hi Mothilal,

    This image looks the same as what was sent in the word document before (correct me if I'm wrong). My primary concern is still the shorted center taps.
