TUSB2E221: When will INT be used in I2C?

Dear team,

My custmomer want to use the TUSB2E221 I2C function, However, they want to leave EQ2/INT pin as flotaing. from Hardware, it should be okay as this pin is OD, but customer want to know funtionly, when will this INT be used?

Hi Charles,

EQ2/INT can be programmed to output based on the status of a certain interrupt, depending on the configuration of the INT_ENABLE_1/2 and INT_STATUS_1/2 registers:

By default, there is no interrupt to the pin in I2C mode, so leaving this pin floating should be okay.

So this is not the I2C related INT, more like a general propose INT and can be ignored.

Just to confirm, do they need to add 10K to GND (as in typical application) or connect to GND directly is also okay?

Hi Charles,

If the customer want's to, they can PD to ground, I would recommend with a resistor. However, the customer should also be able to leave this pin floating if desired.
