Hi expert

Does TCAN1043-Q1 support cleaning with DI water?

Customer is requesting confirm from us: if our device can support below requirement:

  • Water : Minimum spec DI water at input 0.25uS/cm  (4MΩ-cm)  ,
  • Target spec DI water at input  0.17uS/cm 6MΩ-cm target.
  • Water conductivity : Target water conductivity at end of rinse  20.0uS/cm (50kΩ-cm)
  • Time : 30 mins
  • Temp : 85℃      

Support need: could you help confirm this?

    Hi Mason,

    The device compatibility should be to meet IPC / JEDEC standards and is generally compatible with standard DI water PCB cleaning processes. However, we do not guarantee nor qualify for specific cleaning conditions such as the extended immersion time, the elevated temperature, or defined conductivity levels.

    Hence, the proposed condition (85 °C for 30 minutes) is more aggressive than typical industry cleaning processes and may introduce risks related to moisture absorption in plastic IC packages. Would recommend that the customer validate this cleaning process at the system level, including proper drying (e.g., bake) to ensure no residual moisture remains, thanks.
