LMH0324: Can ISL59602 be replaced with LMH0324?

Part Number: LMH0324
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH0318

Hello guys,

One of my customers uses ISL59602 (Renesas) for their current products.

At this moment, they have the following question.
Could you please give me your reply?

Q.
They are looking for similar device which can replace ISL59602 with
because It has become difficult to get that product.
They found TI has a similar device, LMH0324 by cross refference tool.
Can ISL59602 be replaced with LMH0324?
If the answer is no, is there any other TI device which ISL59602 can be replaced with?

Your reply would be much appreciated.

Best regards,
Kazuya.

  • Hi Kazuya-san,

ISL59602 is a 100 ohm driver while LMH0324 is a 75 ohm driver. In addition, the operating voltages for these devices are different.

LMH0318 will be a better replacement but this device will still require a design change on the customer board.

  • Hello J,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.

Yes, they can re-design schematic and PCB for the device replacing.

They use ISL59602 to correct signal degradation through 300m twisted-pair differential transmission on the receiving end.
Can LMH0318 be used for similar usage?

Thank you again and best regards,
    Kazuya.

  • Hi Kazuya-san,

This would depend on the loss of the twisted-pair cable.

Our device can support up to 30in of FR4 trace (-27.5dB loss).

I am unsure what the loss of the customer's cable would be but, if their loss is below this amount, our device should be able to support it.

    Best,
    J
