DS90UB933-Q1: 933 to send SPI data - receiving side 9702 or 9722

Part Number: DS90UB933-Q1

933/934 is sending SPI data instead of video parallel interface. This works fine with 934 and no issues.

But now tuse case: 933 ser that receives SPI data to be paired with 9702/9722 deser. TI documentation states that the FPD Link IV deser in general is compatible with 933.

But how would this work considering this is not video data? Does the 9702 send this data out as CSI2 and if so, how?

  • Hi Michael,

In this case the UB9702 re-formats the received data on the video interface into CSI-2 packets. The Hsync and Vsync are used as boundaries to generate CSI-2 packets such as starting a long packet, ending a long packet, sending frame start, and frame end. It doesn't sound like this would work for the use case that you've mentioned here.

The one option we could use is 971S and 9724S which are 97x devices supporting a SPI control channel alongside the CSI-2 video stream. Let me know if this is something you'd be interested in discussing.

    Best,

    Thomas
