Hello,

I would like to inquire about the allowable tolerance for oscillator frequency stability of the TL16C550C.

For reference, the oscillator frequency stability is ±20 to ±100 ppm.

    Jinho,

    We don't really have a spec on the oscillator tolerance. Lower is obviously better since all of the sampling on RX and Tx data relies on this clock. At 100ppm, this seems like there is a 0.01% chance of a error which seems pretty low to me. I would probably say this is acceptable.
