DP83TC815-Q1: DP83TC815-Q1 100Base-T1 B2B design

There are two boards in our system: the switch is on the main board, and the PHY(DP83TC815-Q1) is on the sub-board. The 100BASE-T1 link from the switch to the PHY passes through a board-to-board(B2B) connector. How should we design this?

1.Are DC-blocking capacitors, a common-mode choke (CMC) a common-mode termination, and MDI coupling capacitors necessary?

2.If yes, where should they be placed- near the switch, near the PHY, or near the B2B connector?

3.If the subsequent PMA test fails, how do you determine whether the issue is on the main board or the sub-board ?
