TSER953: Regarding continued production

Part Number: TSER953
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDES954, DS90UB954-Q1, DS90UB953-Q1

Hi All,

I have some questions regarding the TSER953 and TDES954.

I understand there are no planned end-of-life (EOL) dates for the TSER953 and TDES954, but is my understanding correct?

We have a customer who is concerned about production. This customer requires 10 years of production. I am asking this question to alleviate their concerns.

Are the FPD-Link3 versions of the same product, the DS90UB953-Q1 and DS90UB954-Q1, more productive?

Best Regards,
Ishiwata

  • Hi Shuji,

TI's General Quality Guidelines describes our official policy on obsoleting a device.

This policy is summarized below, from page 8/9 of the pdf.

    22 PRODUCT WITHDRAWAL/DISCONTINUANCE

    • TI's Product withdrawal/discontinuance process complies with J-STD-048, latest issue.
    • TI makes an effort to not obsolete products out of convenience.
    • TI’s obsolescence withdrawal schedule provides a longer lead time than the industry standard.
    • TI allows 12 months for the last order and an additional 6 months to take final delivery of obsolete items.
    • In rare circumstances, an accelerated withdrawal schedule may be necessary. In such cases, TI will communicate the last buy and final delivery dates in the EOL notice, along with an explanation of the circumstances necessitating the early withdrawal.

The FPD-Link3 versions of the 953/954 are functionally the same but are rated for a wider temperature range and are AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.

  • Hi Ethan,

    Thank you for your answer.

Have TSER953 and TDES954 already been transferred to 300mm wafer production?

Are they still being produced on 150mm wafers?

    Best Regards,
    Ishiwata

  • Hi Shuji,

They have both already transferred to 300mm wafer production.
