TUSB211RPTREVM: TUSB211A ref design

Part Number: TUSB211RPTREVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB211A, TUSB211,

Hi Support Team,

I am planning to use the TUSB211A as a USB 2.0 Redriver solution. However, I noticed that the current EVM is only available for the TUSB211. Could you please confirm if I can use the TUSB211 EVM as a reference design for the TUSB211A?

Additionally, I was unable to locate the design files for the TUSB211 EVM on the website. Would it be possible for you to provide these documents for my reference?

  • The design files are now available for download. However, I still need to confirm the design differences between the TUSB211 and the TUSB211A. Additionally, if the CD and ENA_HS pins are not utilized in my design, is it acceptable to leave them floating?

  • Hi,

The TUSB211 and TUSB211A are P2P compatible; their footprints are the same. You can use the TUSB211EVM as a reference design for the TUSB211A.

It is ok to leave CD and ENA_HS floating if not used. However, I recommend having a test point on these pins to help debugging if needed.

  • Hello,

The TUSB211RPTREVM uses the TUSB211A instead of the TUSB211. You can use that EVM to test the TUSB211A. You can find the design files on the TUSB211RPTREVM webpage: www.ti.com/.../TUSB211RPTREVM

If CD and ENA_HS are not being used, these can be left floating or connected to a test point, to debug the redriver in case any issues come up in testing.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
