The TCA9847 datasheet (SLVSLJ4) describes it as an I2C Multiplexer, which I understand means it selects a single sub-bus at a time.
However Table 7-2 (Command Byte) and Sec 7.2 (Schematic) make it look more like a Switch (selects any/all sub-buses simultaneously). Indeed Sec 7.5.4 says explicitly "Multiple SCn/SDn channels can be selected at the same time".
Is the TCA9847 really a Switch rather than a Multiplexer [vs a mistake in the datasheet]? If so, how is it different from the TCA9848? (I tried comparing the datasheets but it's easy to miss something over 39 pages.)
