DS160PT801X16EVM: PCIe link up issue with DS160PT801X16EVM Riser Card Evaluation Module

Part Number: DS160PT801X16EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS160PT801

We are face some PCIe link up issues while validating DS160PT801X16EVM  Riser Card Evaluation Module. We have the following two testing PC setup:

Test setup - 1

Processor : intel core 7 ultra    155H
Architecture : x86_64
PCIe Slot : Gen4 x8 (supports only upto Gen4 x4)
OS : Ubuntu 22.04

Test setup - 2

Processor : i7-14700
Architecture : x86_64
PCIe Slot : Gen4 x16
OS : Ubuntu 22.04

We are testing PCIe adapter with Gen3 x4 key with and without DS160PT801X16EVM. PCIe Link up was happening when tested with Gen3 x8 NVMe PCIe adapter with Gen3 x4 key without DS160PT801X16EVM in both the setup.

When we connected PCIe adapter with Gen3 x4 key to Test setup 1 slot through the DS160PT801X16EVM, with all jumpers set to their default positions. In this configuration, the PCIe device is not detected. However, when we use the SigCon Architect GUI tool and select the "Reset Device" option, followed by a system reboot, the PCIe device is detected. In this case, it downgrades to Gen1 x4 device instead of the expected Gen3 x4. Could you please advise whether any register settings need to be modified to properly support this setup?

We performed same test on Test setup 2. In that setup, the PCIe device was detected correctly without selecting the "Reset Device" option in the GUI tool. After selecting the “Reset Device” option in the GUI tool , it downgraded to Gen1 x4. We would appreciate your assistance in understanding this behaviour and any configuration changes required.

For your refernce we have attached register logs along with this.
