When the system was operating normally, I used the GPIO in the MCU domain to pull down the RESET_REQz signal. I found that not only the A core was reset, but also the R core was reset (DMR5 domain was reloaded). The manual describes this signal as the reset for the A core. I would like to know how I can only reset the main domain.

Additionally, I tested when RESET_REQZ was pulled low, the power supply of the PMIC remained stable, and the MCU_PORZ signal remained at a high level.

This is expected in use case where reset isolation for MCU domain is not implemented.

Hello Pan Liang,

Are you sure you use the RESET_REQz signal and not the MCU_RESETz signal? The MCU_RESETz is set to warm reset the MCU and Main Domain.

Are the MCU_RESETz and RESET_REQz pin connected separately? Each of these pins must be connected to the corresponding power supply through separate external pull resistors to ensure the inputs associated with these balls are held to a valid logic high level if a PCB signal trace is connected and not actively driven by an attached device. The internal pull-up can be used to hold a valid logic high level if no PCB signal trace is connected to the ball.

The device can be configured via software such that a Main domain resets can be isolated from MCU domain. When the MCU domain is configured for reset isolation, MAIN domain resets will only reset the MAIN domain and the MCU domain will remain unaffected by all MAIN domain resets. All MCU domain resets will cause a reset to the entire device (including MAIN and MCU domains).

You could set in register MCU_CTRL_MMR_CFG0_RST_CTRL bit 18 to "1". MCU can set this bit to block warm reset in the main domain which is useful when the MCU may be accessing main domain resources (peripherals, memory, etc.). This way a reset from the MCU will be blocked to reset the Main Domain.
