Hi team,

How can TUSB2E221 support DCP mode?

I assume 200ohm for CDP and 0ohm for DCP should be toggled but there is no GPIO if customer use USB2 PHY configuration (I2C isn't used). Please help to answer with simple block diagram if DCP is achievable for clear understanding.

Hi Koyo,

The TUSB2E221 does not support DCP functionality, only SDP and CDP functionality. The TUSB2E11 does support DCP functionality.

I see TUSB2E221 can't support DCP. For laptop system point of view, can customer realize DCP if D+ and D- are shorted? They probably need to toggle 200ohm and 0ohm.

Hi Koyo,

If the customer wanted to use DCP, they could either short D+/D- together, or short them using a 200Ohm resistor.

Does the customer intend on creating a DCP port for their laptop? This will disable any USB2 functionality outside of BC1.2.

Thanks for the answer. DCP is required for their internal definition but kind of DCP is achievable even though TUSB2E221 doesn't support because there is no USB communication if SoC is power off but charging is available.
