SN74AXC4T774-Q1: difference between CAXC4T774QBQBRQ1 and SN74AXC

Dear team,

My customer is evaluating SN74AXC4T774, they want to choose CAXC4T774QBQBRQ1 package.

They are condused about the GPN, SN74AXC- and CAX- are too different from each other, they wonder if there are any spec difference between those two parts.

I checked on D/S they should be same apart from the package, please help to confirm. Also just curious why the GPN has such big difference?

When the part number becomes too long, "SN74" is replaced with "C". This does not change anything about the chip itself.

Hello Charles,

I agree with Clemens' comment. The GPN (General Part Number) is SN74AXC4T774-Q1 but within this GPN there are several OPNs (Orderable Part Numbers) that can differ from one another. The differences in name can be related to package type, lead finish, or as Clemens mentioned OPN becomes too long.

Regardless, all OPNs will follow the parameters and specifications listed on the datasheet.
