TDES960: DS90UB960 & DS90UB953: Request for Link Margin Analysis Script

We are currently using the DS90UB960 deserializer paired with DS90UB953 serializers running on an embedded Jetson Xavier NX environment.

We need to validate our physical signal integrity. Could you please share the Link Margin Analysis (MAP) script for this specific UB960 + UB953 FPD-Link III combination? This will help us evaluate the link margin on our custom board.

Thanks for sharing the script.

I reviewed the link margin script. It looks like the pass/fail criteria heavily relies on I2C communication and basic lock status. Because the FPD-Link back-channel operates at a much lower frequency than the forward-channel, I am concerned that validating the I2C lock does not guarantee our MIPI video payload is surviving without bit errors. Are there any other tools or scripts available to validate the MIPI forward channel?

Hi Kanna,

MAP is useful to diagnose the condition of the eye diagram and analyze the margin within the system. Here are 2 documents which describe how the tool can be used in detail.

BIST (Built-In Self Test) is a feature which is useful for testing the high-speed serial link and the back channel and checking for errors. More information about BIST is provided in the datasheet.

Another option is to enable the pattern generation feature on the serializer and monitor for CSI-2 video errors on the deserializer in registers 0x7a/0x7b.
