DS30BA101: How to connect the peripheral circuits of DS30BA101 and DS30EA101

Part Number: DS30BA101
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS30EA101

Hi All,

We referred to the DS30BA101 and DS30EA101 datasheet and the recommended schematic in the EVM datasheet.
Please tell me how to connect the following terminals.

- Regarding 6pin for DS30BA101
I've noticed that 6 pin(VCC) is left unconnected in the recommended EVM circuit. I believe 6pin (VCC) should be connected to VCC, not left unconnected.
  Is my understanding correct?

- Regarding 11pin(OUT-) for DS30BA101
In the EVM's recommended circuit, a 75ohm resistor and a 5.6nH inductor are connected in parallel, followed by a 4.7uF capacitor.
On the other hand, the DS30BA101 datasheet's recommended circuit has a 1uF capacitor and a 75ohm resistor connected in series, followed by GND.
I believe that connecting a 4.7uF capacitor will allow sufficient low-frequency components to pass through.
I think a 4.7uF capacitor is appropriate, not a 1uF capacitor, as shown in the EVM's recommended circuit. Is my understanding correct?

- Regarding 12pin(OUT+) for DS30BA101
For pin 12 (OUT+), just like pin 11 (OUT-), I believe a 4.7uF capacitor is appropriate, not 1uF, as per the EVM recommended circuit.
  Is my understanding correct?

- Regarding 11pin(OUT-) for DS30BA101
In the EVM recommended circuit, I believe a 75ohm resistor should be placed between C5 (4.7uF capacitor) and GND. Is this correct?
In the DS30EA01 circuit connected to pin 12 (OUT+), a 5.6nH inductor and a 75ohm resistor are connected in parallel, and then connected to GND via another 75ohm resistor.
Since OUT+ and OUT- need to be set to symmetrical voltages, I believe a 75ohm resistor should also be placed on the OUT- side.
  Is my understanding correct?

-Regarding the 11pin(OUT+), 10pin(OUT-) for DS30EA101
Is my understanding correct that, as per the EVM's recommended circuit, capacitors C13 and C14 should be 4.7uF instead of 1uF?

Best Regards,
Hayashi

Your understanding is correct. Please follow the datasheet and connect pin 6 to VCC.

The DRIVECABLE04-TX schematic shows a large AC coupling cap to accommodate for a variety of data coding schemes and frequency content. If there is not a concern for passing low frequency content, a smaller AC coupling cap will work.

The 5.6nH parallel inductor is for input return loss compensation, and it is necessary to meet SMPTE return loss requirements. The actual value of the inductor depends on PCB design, but historically, the 5.6 nH value has worked well on many designs. If you do not need to meet a particular return loss spec with a compensation network, this inductor is not required.

This looks to be a duplicate of question #2, please see my above response.
