TUSB8020B: TUSB8020B: USB_R1 resistor value differs between datasheet and EVM

Part Number: TUSB8020B

According to the TUSB8020B datasheet, a 9.53 kOhm resistor is recommended for the USB_R1 pin. However, in the TUSB8020B EVM schematic, a 9.09 kOhm resistor is populated.

Could you clarify which value should be used in a new design?

  • Datasheet: 9.53 kOhm
  • EVM: 9.09 kOhm

Is the difference intentional? If so, what is the reason for using 9.09 kOhm on the EVM instead of the datasheet-recommended 9.53 kOhm value?

    Hi Sota:

      it depends on how long the HS trace length from hub to downstream port connector . It the trace length is < 3in, 9.53k should be fine.

      If trace length  between 3in to 10 in, 9.09 kohm should be used.
