TCAN1145-Q1: Questions regarding selective wake

Part Number: TCAN1145-Q1

Hi team,

  1. When TCAN1145-Q1 is on the sleep mode after configuring selective wake, the error occurs and then the it is cleared. Is TCAN1145-Q1 still on the sleep mode with selective wake?
  2. Does an error on the can bus affect selective wake while trying to set a selective wake by accessing the registers for selective wake?
  3. Which states is the state when the FRAME_OVF happens, Normal mode, sleep mode(selective wake enabled) and standby mode?

Best regards,

Shunsuke Yamamoto

  • Yamamoto-san,

    1. Please clarify what you mean by "error." Is this a CAN error frame? It takes multiple CAN error frames to wake the transceiver. This is defined by register "FRAME_CNT_THRESHOLD"

    2. Your question is a little confusing. But if you are asking if a CAN error frame creates issues while configuring selective wake (SW), then the answer is yes. I recommend configuring all SW settings while the transceiver is in Standby mode. That way the transceiver cannot transmit/receive CAN data while SW is being setup. Once SW is finished setting up, TCAN1145 can switch to Sleep mode.

    3. After FRAME_OVF, the transceiver enters Standby mode.

    Best,
