SN65LVDT2: Regarding LVDS Receiver Selection

Part Number: SN65LVDT2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCLVC1104

Hi team,

Our customer is considering the adoption of TI products for an LVDS signal chain.
The current signal chain under consideration is as follows:
5P49V60 (1.8 V) → 8P34S1204 (1.8 V) → SN65LVDT2DBVR (2.5 V) → CDCLVC1104 (2.5 V) → Buffer
During the evaluation of the SN65LVDT2DBVR, we have observed an issue where the duty cycle degrades by approximately 10%. As a result, the customer is now considering alternative devices.
Could you please advise if there are any recommended TI products with lower jitter that could be used as an alternative LVDS receiver?
In addition, we would appreciate your recommendations for any suitable clock distribution devices other than the CDCLVC1104.
Best regards,
Kyohei
  • Hi Kyohei,

Can you provide the data rate of the signal and how the customer determined SN65LVDT2DBVR was the cause of this degradation? You should be measuring the differential input signal across the A and B pins and compare it to the R pin output signal. You have quite a few components in your signal chain so there could be multiple reasons why you are seeing this issue.

    Regards,

    Matt
