  1. I am using DS90UB921 serializer on my side. The other end has a deserializer and FPGA owned by a different team. I will give them my data format spec. Do I need to configure their deserializer, or is that fully their responsibility?

  2.  i am interfacing an FPGA with the DS90UB921-Q1 serializer.
    Is there any reference VHDL code available for generating the RGB video interface and configuring the device through I²C?
    If available, could you share an example design or application note for FPGA implementation?

    Hi Hetvi,

    1. There is no requirement for the controller on the serializer side to program the deserializer.

    2. We do not have reference FPGA code for the external video and I2C interface.

    The UB921 will automatically output to the deserializer once video is present on the input. Other functions that require I2C interface include the below

    • GPIO setup
    • I2C passthrough
    • Pixel clock edge select
    • Pattern generation
