Part Number: TDP142

Hello,

My customer wants to connect an AP that supports only DP1.4 and a Display Panel that supports only eDP using the TDP142.

The specifications are as follows:

1. Resolution: 7680 x 936 (@60Hz)

2. Input Interface: Standard DP 1.4 (4 Lanes + AUX + HPD)

3. Output Interface: Connecting eDP Panel directly (4 Lanes + AUX + HPD, Bypass mode)

Will there be any issues with a connection like this using the TDP142?

If there is a device that is more suitable for this connection, please recommend it.

Thank you.

  • Hi,

The main differences between DP and eDP are the number of electrical wires, different physical connectors, and different usage models. For example, eDP has an option of supplying backlight power to the LCD panel, getting indication from an ambient light sensor and controlling monitor’s brightness.

But in terms of the main links, it is the same, so you can use TDP142 as a re-driver between DP and eDP.

    Thanks

    David
