Hi all,

I am using the the YRDKRX62N development board form Renesas. This board use the RX62N that can manage one ethernet port.

My final design needs to have ethernet connection but at the same time I need two RJ45 in order to implement a ethenet cable extender.

The micro have only one ethernet connection. How Can I use the DP83849C that use only one mac ineterface to the micro and the two phy interface in order to implement a cable extender , if that it is the case, How Can I configure the DP83849C without program any internal register?

Is There any other asic to implement a cable extender?

Please also review the DP83849I and DP83849IF datasheets. These two parts add the flexible port switching feature that maybe key for your application.

It is not totally clear on what you are describing as your application, is it a extender or a something else? There is a nice Application Note to review also on this subject, Please review it and advise if you have additional questions.
