THVD4411: Mode Control Pins

The MODE control function table states what the functions are for 01, 11, and 10 but it isn't stated what the function will be when both MODE1 and MODE0 are 0. Does it go into Low-Power Shutdown Mode?

Hi Giuliana,

Thanks for reaching out on E2E. Let me reach out to confirm, but both RS-232 and RS-485 modes should be disabled.

However, if you want to enter a low power shutdown mode, please use the shutdown pin 12.

Hi Giuliana,

I got confirmation that MODE0, MODE1=00 does not shutdown the transceiver. Please use the shutdown pin for the lower current consumption.

It will be in an RS-232 mode, similar to MODE1,MODE0=01.

So just to clarify the function table would be...

MODE1	MODE0	Function
0	0	RS232 Mode
0	1	RS232 Mode
1	0	RS485 Half duplex mode
1	1	RS485 Full duplex mode
