TUSB9261: customer questions

Hello,

In order to make a decision if TUSB9261 is met with our customer target application, our customer has several questions below. Please help him out how TUSB9261 works.

  • Does the customer have to control signal path if he plug Type-C port in reversive.
  • Is a customer able to cutomize FW by himself.

    If a type-C port is being used with the USB3 pins of the TUSB9261, yes, the Type-C port will need to be controlled. If not controlled, the TUSB9261 would either only work in one orientation, or only at USB2 speeds.

    To control it, you will need either a CC controller or a PD controller, and a mux for signal routing.

    What application is the TUSB9261 looking at being used in here?

    Yes, we can provide the customer the source code for the FW, and if the FW we have available does not meet his needs, he can use it to create his own FW.

    Please keep in mind that on our end, software support for this device is limited, so we can provide the software we have as-is for the customer to use.
