TUSB1210: Confirmation of the method to enter USB HOST test mode using TUSB1210BRHBR

HI teams.

I would like to confirm one point: when checking whether the USB HOST has entered TEST MODE, is it necessary to insert a USB flash drive? Currently, after the device enters test mode, no signal appears on DP/DM unless a USB flash drive is inserted, and inserting the USB flash drive causes signals to appear.

I am not sure whether this signal is the one generated by the USB HOST in test mode. Could you please help confirm this? As shown below, Figure 1 is the waveform when a USB flash drive is inserted in test mode, while Figures 2 and 3 are the waveforms when a USB flash drive is inserted in non‑test mode. There is a clear difference between them.

The USB PHY currently used is TUSB1210BRHBR.

    Is this windows system or Linux system? You need to force device into test mode.

    For windows, you can use HSET tool .

    For Linux, you need to send USB command.

    Thank you for your reply. The system we are using is neither Windows nor Linux, but the controller has already configured the registers to force the device into USB HOST TEST MODE. However, I do not see any waveform on DP/DM. When a USB flash drive is inserted, a waveform appears.Is this behavior correct? If TEST MODE is configured properly, should a waveform appear even without inserting a USB flash drive?

    Hi Boris:

       If in test mode,  waveform appear even without inserting a USB flash drive.

       You  need to send USB command to force into test mode.
