DS25BR440: Output LVDS 100OHM Check

Part Number: DS25BR440
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65LVDS250

Hi TIer

My customer use DS25BR440 in screen side (only EQ function).

But we find screen have 100ohm internal resister. The screen internal matching resistor reduces the signal amplitude in parallel with the DS25BR440 internal matching resistor. We see that the screen is not displaying properly.

So I would like to check, do we have a pin2pin chip that no 100ohm matching resistance?

If not , do we have some solution sugestion?

Thank you very much.

  • Hi TIer

Could you help check this question?

    Thank you very much.

  • Hi TIer

Could you help check the application:  LCD 1920*1080P, MPU output 2 sets (4 pairs of data line +1 clock line ), directly using DS25BR440/3.15Gbps quad LVDS buffer (with pre-emphasis and receive equalization).

So it nice have 5 channel in one chip which can include 4 data line + 1 clock line.

    Could you give some suggestion?

If no chip have 5 channel. Could we use 2 DS25BR440 with 8 pairs of LVDS, 1 chip with 2 clocks, how to arrange the channel mapping.

  • Hi Tony,

SN65LVDS250 is a device that has similar functionality but at the cost of a lower speed of 2 Gbps and it's not pin2pin.

A suggestion for using the DS25BR440 is utilizing the receive equalization pins to help with the signal amplitude issues.

Are the reduced amplitude issues happening on the driver or receiver side of the device?

    Best,

    Ethan
