Part Number: TCA6408A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAL6408,
Hi TI team:
The IO Expander IC in our current product uses your company's TCA6408A chip. We are currently evaluating whether we can replace it with your TCAL6408 chip;
We found that when comparing these two chips:
(1) The TCA6408A chip does not have an Interrupt mask register and can receive any form of interrupt after power on
(2) The TCAL6408 chip has an Interrupt mask register (0x45), which automatically masks interrupts when powered on. To enable interrupts, all bits of this register need to be written to 0
So what we are thinking is to write all bits of the Interrupt mask register (0x45) to 0 when TCA6408A is powered on. Will this cause any other risks?
Best Regrds!
