With 1GHz scope, the waveforms should still be viewable. However, for compliance testing operation, it is best recommended to check in with scope vendor supplying testing methods.

Ideally, compliance testing is done with necessary load board, but this would do in a pinch.

At this stage, I only want to confirm whether the Ethernet port in the software has correctly entered TEST MODE.As shown in the diagram below, this is the current measurement setup.I soldered a 100 Ω resistor between PIN 1 (TX+) and PIN 2 (TX–), and measured the signal using a differential probe.
The Ethernet cable is open‑circuited.Is this current test setup valid?

Can the differential signal between PIN 1 (TX+) and PIN 2 (TX–) show a waveform like the one in the figure?

For Gigabit Ethernet, after entering TEST MODE 1, will the Test Mode 1 waveform shown in the figure appear on all four differential pairs of the RJ45 connector?
