Dear Technical Support Team,

As a replacement for the SP232ECT-L/TR(WSOIC16), which of the pin-compatible MAX232EIDWR or TRS232EIDWR would you recommend in terms of long-term availability?

In past E2E articles, the TRS part numbers were recommended over the MAX part numbers, but the TRS232E package is almost end-of-life (EOL), whereas the MAX232E still appears to be available in packages such as TSSOP and PDIP.

Hi ttd,

It shouldn't matter which one you choose now. We've finished our portfolio consolidation for the RS232 devices so both of them should be in the same bucket in terms of longevity now.
