TMDS1204: Failure of I2C detection

Hi Team,

I have been using TMDS1204 in  I2C mode and only 5B gets detected and when configured to 5E the IC will not get detected. We also tried to change to 5D and 5C still it will not detect.

I have attached the schematics for reference.

    Can you please probe and decode the I2C bus? Are you seeing the proper addressing being sent across the I2C bus?

    Are you also strapping TMDS1204 MODE pin to F, and ADDR/EQ0 pin to the proper level to match the I2C address? 

    Does this happen with a particular unit or multiple units?

    Hi David,

    I have strapped the MODE fin to floating and ADDR/EQ0 to high which indicated the Address as 5B.
    In this case the I2C gets detected, but in rest all of the cases the I2C address in not getting detected.

    • I have probed the ADDR/EQ0 when pulled high the probed value was 3.28V, and pulled low for 5E address the probed value was 0V.

    Does this happen with a particular unit or multiple units?
    This happens to all the boards where TMDS1204 IC is mounted.

    We tested the TMDS1204 and verified it is correctly responding to the I2C address according to its strapping value.

    Any chance you can capture the I2C bus waveform when trying to read the TMDS1204 register? I want to check and make sure there is no setup and hold timing violation on the I2C bus.
