Part Number: DP83869HM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83869, DP83869EVM
Hi Team,
Posting on behalf of our customer.
We are designing a custom board using Microchip's PolarFire SoC (MPFS095TC),
which has a native SGMII interface on its MSS Gigabit Ethernet MAC (GEM).
We plan to pair this with the TI DP83869HM PHY in SGMII-to-Copper mode.
We note that Microchip's own polarfire-soc-bare-metal-library already
ships a PHY driver for the TI DP83867 (ti_dp83867_phy.c) validated for use
with the MSS Ethernet MAC over SGMII, and that DP83867 is also used in
shipping hardware (Antmicro's PolarFire SoM, based on the MPFS250T).
We would like to request:
1. Any TI reference driver, sample code, or application note for the
DP83869HM operating in SGMII-to-Copper mode with a third-party
(non-TI) MAC, particularly an FPGA-based MAC.
2. Confirmation that the DP83869HM's SGMII interface (4-wire, 1.25 Gbps
LVDS) is compatible with a standard SGMII MAC implementation such as
Microchip's MSS GEM, similar to how the DP83867 has already been
validated in that role.
3. Any existing design-in documentation, EVM reference schematics, or
customer reference designs showing DP83869HM paired with an FPGA/SoC
MAC over SGMII.
4. The relevant datasheet section(s) or app notes we should follow for
the SGMII-to-Copper mode software initialization sequence, beyond
what is already documented in the DP83869HM datasheet Section 7.4.8.7.
Our target part is the DP83869HM, connected via 4-wire SGMII to a
Microchip PolarFire SoC MSS Gigabit Ethernet MAC (MPFS095TC).
Regards,
Danilo
