TLIN1028-Q1: Question about the parameters of TLIN10285DRBRQ1

Part Number: TLIN1028-Q1

Dear TI experts,

My customer have some questions about the parameters of TLIN10285DRBRQ1 from their end customer.

Could you clarify the values of the parameters below and where can I find the evidence from datasheet?

  1. Rising edge slope time of LIN pin
  2. Falling edge slope time of LIN pin
  3. frequency deviation(%) of mater communication
  4. Frequency deviation(%) of slave communication

Please check this issue. Thanks.

Best regards,

Chase

  • Hi Chase,

I believe the data sheet do not specify because some are defined by the LIN standard or depend on the host MCU.

See section 7.8 specifying 6 us for 1 and 2. For 3 and 4, please reach out to the MCU / controller team as this should not be a transceiver parameter, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.

  • Dear Michael,

    Thank you for your support.

Although frequency deviation depends on LIN standard or host MCU, what if other factors have 0% deviation, and how about frequency deviation of TILIN1028-Q1 itself under the condition? Could you check it?

    Please check this issue. Thanks.

    Best regards,

    Chase

  • Hi Chase,

The frequency deviation of LIN communication is not defined for TLIN because the device does not generate the communication frequency.

The LIN baud rate is determined by the host MCU clock and LIN protocol timing requirements. Assuming the MCU clock and other external factors have 0% frequency deviation, TLIN itself should not introduce additional frequency deviation. The device mainly contributes propagation delay and signal edge timing characteristics, which should not change the communication frequency, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.
