TUSB9261: Can the RMB bit be cleared

Part Number: TUSB9261

The TUSB9261 is fitted to a 3U VPX board to provide a backplane SATA port for compatibility with a previous product generation. As supplied the firmware reports the attached drive as removeable so Windows will not install to that device. Can the bridge's Removable Media Bit (RMB) be changed (= 0) to report drives as fixed?

    Hi Steve,

    We don't have any firmware currently available with this RMB flipped. However, if you have the source code for the firmware you are free to make adjustments and see if you can have the drive set as fixed.

    Please keep in mind that our software support for this device is limited, hence us providing source code for customers to modify as needed.
