Hello Team,
 
Our customer is designing an application that requires switching 3 HDMI inputs into 1 HDMI output. The maximum video resolution required is 1920x1080 60FPS. They are considering TMDS341 and TMDS341A for this design and have the following technical questions:
  1. Apart from the data rate difference (1.65 Gbps vs 2.25 Gbps), are there any other functional or electrical differences between TMDS341 and TMDS341A?
  2. Can TMDS341 be used in a daisy-chain configuration? If yes, what is the maximum number of cascading stages supported?
Could you please help clarify these points and provide any recommendations or design considerations for cascading this device?

    Besides the change in data rate, input common mode voltage range and device ESD performance are some of the additional difference between the two devices. There is also a TMDS361B that may fit the customer's need as well.

    Cascading have been tried before and but did not work, and we never debug it to find the root cause. So I would recommend not to use these devices in a cascading connection.
