TUSB2E221: EQ setting recommendation

Part Number: TUSB2E221

Hi Team,

We have following eUSB2 redriver in the Dell Rapterra NVL design.

We will need your help to confirm the related device, port address

And recommended EQ setting based on Pre-channel & Post-channel in yellow columns.

=> EC team will adjust it based on that.

May I have your help with it?

  • Pre-channel indicate the eUSB2 side of the repeater.
  • Post-channel indicates the USB2 side of the repeater

Thank you.

  • Hi Peggy,

    I2C is being used, correct?

    For Port 1/Channel 0:

Pre-channel at 4559mil is roughly 5 inches, so I would recommend the customer follow our recommendations on table 10-1 for 5 inches.

Post-channel at 3573mil is roughly 3.5-4 inches, so I would recommend the following:

    • U_EQ_P0 = 0x1
    • U_SQUELCH_THRESHOLD_P0 = 0x5
    • U_DISCONNECT_THRESHOLD_P0 = 0x6
    • U_HS_TX_AMPLITUDE_P0 = 0x7
    • U_HS_TX_PRE_EMPHASIS_P0 = 0x1

    For Port 2/Channel 1:

Pre-channel is at 4543mil, so I would again recommend using the EQ settings for 5 inches in table 10-1.

Post-channel is at 1177mil, so I would recommend using the same EQ settings as compensation level 0:

Px indicates port, so for example bit name is U_EQ_P1 indicates channel 1.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
