MSPM0C1106: secure programming process for mass production

Part Number: MSPM0C1106

would like to clarify the recommended secure programming process.

Our current programming setup is based on SEGGER J-Link

Could you please advise on the following:

  1. Is MSPM0C1106 fully supported for production programming using J-Link?
  2. What is the recommended procedure to program the application firmware and then secure the device?
  • Hi Luda,

MSPM0C1106 is fully supported by Segger for both debug probes and production programmers. To clarify, the J-Link is classified as a debug probe while the Flasher products are their programmers. The following linked MSPM0 NONMAIN Flash Memory Configuration Guide goes into details on the recommended practices for securing the device using a custom NONMAIN configuration.

    We recommend:

    1. Erase Main Flash
    2. Erase NONMAIN Flash
    3. Program NONMAIN flash
    4. Program Main Flash

This will minimize the time where nonmain is erased. If the device undergoes a bootrst or stronger in this state or if nonmain hasn't fully been written the device will become irreversibly locked.

    Best Regards,
    Brian
