TUSB7320: TUSB7320: Device Swap Test Results

Part Number: TUSB7320
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB7340

Hi Brian,

This is a follow-up to the previous thread regarding the TUSB7320 intermittent startup failure.

We completed the TUSB7320 swap test between the affected board and a known-good board.

The results are as follows:

- Known-good board with the TUSB7320 removed from the affected board:
The issue was reproduced.

- Affected board with the TUSB7320 removed from the known-good board:
The issue was not reproduced.

Based on these results, the issue follows the TUSB7320 device.

Could you please advise on the next steps?

Best regards,
Yoda

  • Hi Yoda:

Do you have TI TTUSB7340 evaluation board? If not, please get help from TI FAE to order one . Let's see if it can pass on TI EVM or not. If still failed, we need to start  QEM process to find boot cause.

    Regards

    Brian

  • Hi Brian,

    Thank you for your suggestion.

We do not have a TUSB7340 evaluation board.

Could you please clarify whether TI or the TI FAE can provide or loan the evaluation board for this investigation?

Also, who would be responsible for installing the affected TUSB7320 on the evaluation board and performing the test?

Since the issue has already been confirmed to follow the TUSB7320 device through the swap test, we would also like to understand whether testing on the TI EVM is required before starting the QEM process.

    Best regards,
    Yoda

  • Hi Yoda:

Since you don't have EVM and not able to install the parts to EVM, please contact local TI quality team to start QEM process.

    Best
