Hello,

Since there is no power dissipation, junction temperature and ambient temperature are the same, so this number is 85C.

Hi Leah,

Can you clarify what you mean that there is no power dissipation on the device? Customer has concern on the same ambient and max junction temp. Does this mean they cannot put it in ambient at 85 °C?

This component they use has power less than 1.00 picoW.

Hello Alfred,

When this diode is in a standby state, it draws little to no current, basically acting like an open circuit unless a spike occurs. When referring to the equation below, this will allow the power dissipation to be 0, making the ambient and junction temperature almost identical.

It is rated for a maximum temperature of 85 °C, so it should be okay. Let me know if you have any further questions.
