Hi Team,

The TPS65991 is used on the Intel Alder Lake platform.

This chip has three I2C interfaces; what are the differences between them?

How should pins 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 be configured?

Hi Allen,

I2C_1 is used for the EC

I2C2 is used for the SOC

I2C3 is used for the retimer/redriver

Can you be more specific on what you mean by configured?

Hi Allen,

If the application is sourcing, the bulk capacitance for PP5V is too low. 120uF is minimum if sourcing

The capacitance on VBUS is too high. Maximum is 10 uF.

There needs to be 220 pF caps on each CC line.

Everything else looks fine.
